Relative sizes of Planets and Stars

I tried recently to describe the difference in size between Jupiter and Earth to help explain my last blog showing Jupiter and Earth as seen from Mars. In this image Jupiter is still larger than Earth, even though it is 800 Million miles further away.  This is the same with the stars we see. Those which are brighter are often much further away than the fainter, closer stars.   So here is a nice animation of the relative sizes and planets and stars, as well as an image of the planets in our Solar System. But don’t be fooled. Mars may be smaller but it has at least if not more land mass than Earth.
