Watch live streaming of astronauts on the ISS….. I’d like to think that this has the potential to be huge, and I doubt it will be quite like Big Brother!
This is live streaming from the ISS through its high-speed communications antenna and NASA’s Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System. It won’t always be on, but when it is you get to see a number of different views of the inside and outside of the station. There are cameras in the International Space Station’s Destiny Laboratory and Harmony module when the resident astronauts are on duty. Earth views from external cameras on the station’s structure will be available during crew off-duty periods. There is audio too! You can hear conversations between the crew and the Mission Control network. When the space shuttle is docked to the station, the stream will include video and audio of those activities. Watch for sunrise every 45 minutes, and see the cities below!
The streaming video is being webcast as part of NASA’s celebration of the 10th anniversary of the space station in orbit.
