Like most stars, Polaris is not alone. I decided to take a closer look tonight while trying out my new telescope camera mount. Whow was I surprised!
Take a look at the picture below. You can see Polaris clearly (Polaris A), but if you take a closer look there is a slight bulge out to one side. This is actually Polaris Ab, its close orbiting companion star. You can also see Polaris B which is the 3rd start in the Polaris system. I’ve shown my picture, and a copy of a Nasa picture for you to compare. I still have some focuing to work on, but boy was I cold!
