I posted a garbled email from Astroshop.ie and upon request the sent it back in german which a friend kindly translated ( thanks yvonne!). Here is the translation! So how come i get charged for something that never worked? Surely this comes under fit for purpose? Hmmm will continue the ping pong of international email and see what happens next!

Normally repairs are carried out by your Dealer.
When this is not possible, you can send us the mounting and I can set the game for you. However this will incur a charge.
I can however explain to you what the issue is.
The worm gear/screw (?) has a horizontal clearance/bearing play (?) and moves back and forth in its mounting/suspension. This can be set. For this, you have to remove the Motor/engine for example in the RA (?). It is bolted on through the mounting from behind and though. Then you will see a brass nut which is screwed onto an adjusting nut. This brass nut. serves to tighten the adjusting nut. Loosen this brass nut with a 17mm spanner and turn the adjusting nut until the worm gear/screw no longer moves back and forth/has any give. You will have to be very careful in doing this and keep the drive running smoothly. You may have to repeat this several times until you get it. Then tighten up the brass nut. All done.

Wenn dies nicht möglich ist können Sie uns die Montierung zusenden und ich
stelle Ihnen das Spiel ein. Allerdings gegen Berechnung.
Ich kann Ihnen aber auch sagen woran es liegt.
Die Schnecke hat ein horizontales Spiel und bewegt sich in ihrer Lagerung hin und her.
Das kann man einstellen. Dazu müssen Sie den Motor z. B. in der RA entfernen. Er ist
von hinten durch die Montierung hindurch verschraubt. Nun sehen Sie eine Messing
Mutter die auf eine Stellmutter geschraubt ist. Die Messingmutter dient zum Kontern der
Stellmutter. Öffnen Sie mit einem 17 mm Gabelschlüssel diese Messingmutter und ziehen
die Stellmutter so lange nach bis sich die Schnecke nicht mehr hin und her bewegt. Das
muss sehr feinfühlig geschehen und der Antrieb muss leichtgängig bleiben. Eventuell müssen
Sie hier mehrmals versuchen bis es passt. Dann kontern Sie die Messingmutter. Fertig.
